Product Description Outspoken, no-nonsense, and eminently fascinating, Joseph M. Arpaio captured the public's imagination from his first day as sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, in 1992. He has become an icon, not only in his own state, but all over the world. For 15 years, he has maintained an unprecedented 80% approval rating. Famous for his "get smart and get tough" approach to jails, "Sheriff Joe," as he is universally known, conceived The Tent City Jail where he houses his inmates in surplus army tents left over from the Korean War. Known as the "Alcatraz of Arizona," the jail features chain gangs and stringent discipline. By eliminating all comforts for his inmates, he has managed to shave $500,000 annually from the cost of keeping prisoners. But he also offers a wide range of educational and therapeutic courses for inmates. To his ardent followers, he is a hero for both his toughness on crime and his sense of humanity. While his opponents decry him for his iron-fisted approach, no one can deny that Sheriff Joe is one of the country's most respected elected officials. Joe's Law is an uncensored look by "America's Toughest Sheriff" at some of the most important and difficult issues facing America today. As the first law enforcement official in the country to arrest illegal immigrants, Arpaio tackles illegal immigration head on--how it intertwines with drug trafficking, taxes, and crime, and how it impacts health care and education as well. Arpaio offers innovative and fair ways to solve this dilemma and many others, not only in his own state but throughout the country.Compelling and courageous, this is a candid take on some of America's most pressing social problems, and one man's revolutionary vision for eliminating them.

Can we clone Joe Arpaio and put him in every county, city, and federal penal institution in the U.S. and replace all the bozos in the House and Senate with a Joe-Clone, also? LET'S START A WRITE-IN CAMPAIGN: "WAY TO GO: ARPAIO! JOE ARPAIO FOR PRESIDENT...OUR LAST VESTAGE OF COMMON SENSE".
SIGN ME UP!

Terrific! Entertaining and educational June 12, 2008 B. Sherman 28 out of 45 found this review helpful
I live in Arizona and no issue is more important than illegal immigration, and Joe's Law offers a fascinating and surprisingly humane and humane portrait of what's really happening, a portrait you don't get from either local or national new, and certainly not from the blowhards on the radio. It was also interesting, and great fun, too, to listen to the sheriff wax on about the media, politicians (especially John McCain) and everyone else he encounters, for better or worse. I recommend this book highly to anyone interested in the leading issues of the day, and where this country is headed.
Joe's Law by Sheriff Joe Arpaio with Len Sherman July 8, 2008 M. Tyrrell 19 out of 32 found this review helpful
Joe's Law tells it like it is, and is well written and factual. Joe is doing what the government should be doing to protect our country. I am proud to be a member of his Posse for the last six years and look forward to serving him after his re-election this fall.
Great service! February 8, 2010 ScotlandSue 0 out of 2 found this review helpful

A Real American Hero June 13, 2008 Common Sense Rambler (Minneapolis, MN) 8 out of 18 found this review helpful
Joe takes common sense solutions to a whole new level. Everyone needs leaders like Joe running the show. The 80% approval rating proves he knows how to apply everyday common sense to dealing with problems and not political bickering. Sure beats the 14% approval rating of Congress these days. Joe, I'd send you to the Whitehouse if I could. Bravo for your thoughts, you are an inspiration.
Spread the word on Joe, His bi-partisan support might finally shake some common sense into more people.
