Radar/Laser Detector
The RMR-C450 gives you 360-degree detection of all Radar bands (X, K, Ka, SuperWide, Pulse, Instant-On) and all Laser Speed Devices (Pro-Laser, LTI, Laser-Lite, and Stalker). Adaptive laser tracking (ALT) ensures better laser performance.

Integrated Radar/Laser Scrambler
In addition to detection, The RMR-C450 will scramble all radar and Lidar guns.

Includes coiled vehicle power cord.

Laser Scrambler
Lidar sends out laser pulses and measures how long it takes to hit your car and come back. From the speed of light it can determine your range. It sends out several more pulses and calculates your speed from the change in distance over time. The RMR-C450 transmits pulses electronically timed at 100 feet apart. This only allows the Lidar to see up to 100 feet so it is unable to calculate your speed.
Radar Scrambler
It works on all police radar bands (X, K, Ka, super wide). Inside the scrambler are 3 elements: an FM chirp generator, a mixer diode and a dual ridge wave-guide antenna. When the scrambler is hit by a signal it runs it through the mixer, adding the FM chirp to mix up the signal and using the antenna, reflect back this new signal to the radar gun. The radar gun's computer can't recognize the new signal; it gets confused and won't display a reading on the gun, leaving a blank screen.

Voice Alert
Voice Alert with Intelli-Voice voice synthesis keeps you aware while you keep your eyes on the road. Plus it's bilingual--select between English/Spanish.

Advanced Micro-Scan
Scans the radar bands 2-4 times faster than as any other detector. This allows Rocky Mountain devices to pick up the new P.O.P. radar that no one else can.

Smart-Scan
When Rocky Mountain devices detect radar in one scan, they repeat that scan, instead of completing programmed scans and returning. This means they detect quicker with less false alarms than any other detector.

VG-2 and VG-3 Immunity
VG-2 and VG-3 are devices police use to detect radar detectors. This model provides the benefit of 'undetectability' by alerting you to the presence of VG-2 and VG-3 signals.

Safety Alert and Safety Warning System
The RMR-C450 unit incorporates the Safety Alerts (SA) and Safety Warning Systems (SWS) detection. This safety feature warns you of the presence of potential road hazards by detecting signals from safety transmitting devices.

City Mode
The false-alert are often caused in urban areas by automatic door openers and alarm systems. The RMR-8RD features a City mode, in which the X band is not detected and K/Ka band sensitivity is lowered.

I just bought the new model - but I had the old model before that and it was the best radar detector I have had ytd. I even have a K40 built in ($2,200) in my Porsche and I regret getting this. If I had to do it again I would just stick with RockyMountainRadar....
I had one ticket once - nothing is foolproof (I was coming up over a hilltop and there was no way anyone would have picked up the signal - and at that point I was too close - but I have had NUMEROUS instances where I was going too fast and the noisemaker allowed me to slow down and pass)
Like any other detector I basically ignore the X band as its a false alarm 99.5% of the time... And you need to drive for a while to "learn" the detector to figure out your false alarm areas or triggers - as well as if you go too too fast no Detector will save you anyway... So I only use it in order to stay out of nuisance tickets and still get there in time :o) (and maybe because of my lead foot)

I had a friend buy this radar for $350. I went online and found it for $188 so i decided to get it. I use it everywhere I go and it works great. It has really saved me from a couple of tickets more than once. I like to drive the speed limit but sometimes i like to keep up with people who are flying by me. And now with this rocky mountain radar I know when to let off and watch them get pulled over right in front of my eyes. Kinda funny but I guess they should of got a rocky mountain radar. Im really pleased with my purchase.

Great product! It warned me radar was over the bridge before I got to the top. Had 1 officer checking the gun as nothing registered. Fantastic!

This is by far the best detector I have ever seen. Many of my friends have other brands. After seeing this one in my car, now they all want to buy one. It really works! People, if you are in the market for a radar detector, this is the one. Don't waste your money or time with the other brands.

Great product that works well. It certainly does not pick up radar or laser as well as the top of the line cobras or bells but it does pick up at an adiquate range. It also scrambles the radar long enough to reduce speed to legal. I have been radared and lasered several times. In the 30 MPH zones when the cops were driving toward me they would give me some looks when I went by them. Obviously from my speed at the time of detection they could not lock. One case I was lasered the cop after failing to lock put his party lights on but did not come after me. My speed was high enough he could tell by visual but could not lock.
Let me clear up a few things. One gentleman quotes some tests off the internet.from Radar Roy and some others. From what I have researched the owners of Rocky Mountain Radar has upset some people whom have given them poor reviews in kind. The fact that the FCC was on them and it is banned in some states should prove that it does work. I know about 7 other people that have this detector and there have been no reliability issues. There have been discussion as well about going by police cars and the detector not responding. If they do not have their radar on you will not pick up anything and the police do not have it on all the time. I pass several cops who are not using radar.
In closing I will say nothing is 100% You have to use common sense when driving. I usually set my cruise and keep my foot covering the brake so I lose the gas to brake pedal reaction time. If I hear my detector my foot is already on the brake. Also watch your corners and hills reduce speed there. I love the people who say they can pick up radar over hills and around corners. Radar is a straight line device.That is why the airforce uses awacs and the navy E2's because their radar will not see over the horizon.
One last point to note radar roy and a few other so called independent testers are ex cops. they are not going to show you how to defeat thier systems. If anyone saw myth busters about foiling radar the cops were there. If you think they were going to let those guys release anything about defeating radar you are crazy...
